The one thing the Flyers haven’t been able to do over the latter part of the season is string wins together. Something that has caused their playoff hopes to fade into the abyss.
In their last 9-games after wins, the Flyers are 1-8-0. In those 9-games, the Flyers have been chasing the game. Failing to come out with any energy or carryover from the previous game.
“Anytime you can start the play with the puck, you’re not chasing the game,” forward Claude Giroux said. “Think when we do take care of the puck and we do win face-offs, that’s when we are at our best.”
It took a 2-goal comeback in the final 1:26 on Sunday for the Flyers to force overtime. Eventually winning in a shootout. Tonight, the Flyers look for their first back-to-back wins since March 27 & 29.
Egor Zamula will make his NHL debut tonight. Zamula will be paired with Travis Sanheim.
“We got to be maybe a little more disciplined in our structure,” forward Sean Couturier said.
