With just 7-days until the season opener, the Flyers have one last tune-up game to play. A game that will have some pretty big implications on who earns the final roster spot.
“Just have to take advantage of the opportunities given to me,” Garrett Wilson said. “Keep working to get better everyday & make it hard for them (Flyers) to send me down.”
Tonight, Wilson will get one last shot to earn an NHL contract & possibly a spot in the opening night lineup. Wilson is battling Jackson Cates for the Flyers 4th line LW spot.
“I love his work ethic. I love his enthusiasm,” Alain Vigneault said about Jackson Cates. “He was one of our top-10 in shape players.”
With Carter Hart not practicing yesterday, Hart is out tonight. Hart was supposed to make the start in the Flyers final tune-up before the regular season. Now, Martin Jones will make the start.
