The one thing the Flyers look to continue to build on is their strong play. Over the past 5-games, they have been playing some of their best structure hockey of the season.
“Think we’ve just been stressing taking care of the house,” goalie Brian Elliott said. “You really want to limit possession, limit shots from those areas and that’s where we’ve been getting scored on. I thought we’ve been getting better and better.”
Protecting the house has been a result of a better defensive structure. Whether take be good back-check from the forwards or forcing the rush wide & narrowing the ice on the rush.
With every point critical to their playoff push, the Flyers must not look past the Sabres. Today, the Flyers look for their first back-to-back wins since March 27 & 29.
“It’s about gaining momentum and confidence and trying to string together those segments,” forward Travis Konecny said. “We just got to stick to the same way we’ve been playing, the same plan and regroup and come back and be ready to play again.”
