The one thing the Flyers must look to continue to work on is solving their turnovers problem. Something that has been caused by mental mistakes & trying to force things rather than making the simple play.
“Don’t know if it’s fatigue or if we’re doing a lot of mental mistakes,” forward Sean Couturier said. “We’re giving up pucks pretty easy and giving up quality chances that are costing us. It seems to make it easy on our opponents when we do that.”
Over the past three games, Flyers mistakes have led to turnovers & opponents goals. In each of the past three games, the Flyers have had 18 or more turnovers. Which, has resulted in at least 2-goals in each game.
“As a 5-man unit, we’re not working as well as last year,” defenseman Ivan Provorov said. “We were playing a lot closer, a lot tighter, we were killing plays; Lately, we haven’t been playing the same, so I think that’s why there has been some breakdowns and a lot more goals.”
After being embarrassed & blown out in their last meeting 9-0, the Flyers look for revenge vs the Rangers tonight. Look to end a three-game losing streak tonight.
“We’re giving up too many pucks and too many chances,” forward Sean Couturier said. “We literally give it to them. Just got to be smarter with the puck and without it also.”
