The Philadelphia Flyers made their first round of cuts of training camp on Tuesday. Trimming their roster down to 44 players.

With two preseason games in the rear view mirror, the Flyers have sent 9 players to AHL camp and 5 players back to their respective junior clubs. All 14 players were no surprise to be let go considering their place on the depth chart.

Carson Bjarnason, who was a perfect 10-10 in relief of Ivan Fedotov in the Flyers first preseason game, will head back to Brandon for an important year in his development. A year in which Bjarnason will be the #1 goalie for the Wheat Kings and expected to be the starter for Team Canada at the World Juniors in late December.
With this first round of cuts over, the Flyers will return to practice today in Voorhees. Preparing for their next preseason game on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center vs the New York Islanders.
The training camp roster now sits at 44 players.
