The Flyers 3rd game of the preseason is their first at the Wells Fargo Center as the New York Islanders come to town. Game time is 7:00pm and will be televised on NBCSports Philadelphia.
Jett Luchanko and Matvei Michkov will both return to the lineup for their second games of the preseason. Michkov is a lock for the Flyers opening night roster. Luchanko, who has been a camp standout, gets another opportunity to show he continue hold up against NHL talent.
Samuel Ersson will make the start and see his first action of the preseason. Ersson is the Flyers #1 goalie, as identified by GM Danny Briere, to start the season.
Here are three things to watch for…

Jett To The Top
The one major surprise of training camp so far has been 1st round pick from this year Jett Luchanko. Who has survived the first round of cuts.
Not only has Luchanko caught the eye of management, he has also caught the attention of head coach John Tortorella.
The just turned 18 year old has held his own against NHL talent, some twice as old as him, so far in camp and the first preseason game. Which, has lead the Flyers to give Luchanko a long look and a real shot to make the team this season.
None bigger opportunity than tonight as Luchanko will center the Flyers would be top line wing pair of Tyson Foerster and Travis Konecny.

Act #2 : Tippett – Frost – Michkov
Flyers fans got their first taste of Matvei Michkov on Sunday in the preseason opener in Washington vs the Capitals. Tonight, he will make his debut in-front of the Philadelphia faithful.
Just like in Washington, Michkov will be with the same two linemates – Owen Tippett and Morgan Frost.
In their debut, Michkov and Frost linked up to score a goal in the 1st period. A goal that was set up by a blind pass behind the net by Michkov. Which he joked postgame about just closing his eyes and hoping it got there.
As the preseason goes on, this is a line to keep an eye on and could be the Flyers 2nd line on opening night.

Defense Debut
Cam York and Travis Sanheim solidified themselves last season as the Flyers top defense pair. A pair that was relieved on heavily over the latter part of the season.
While the pair did fade over the latter part of the season, head coach John Tortorella took some blame for that. Making it a point of emphasis that the two are his workhorses and may have worked them a little too hard in the middle of the season.
Tonight, the pair will make their preseason debut.
