The Flyers return home down 2-0 after Carolina won Game 2 with 1:06 left in the first overtime. A heartbreaking loss after the Flyers controlled the whole overtime.

Two goals in a span of 39 seconds in the first period provided the offense for the Flyers in regulation.

Jamie Drysdale opened the scoring on the power-play. Sean Couturier doubled the lead shortly thereafter.

Drysdale’s second goal of the playoffs was their first goal in the first period in the playoffs. The goal was unassisted.

Carl Grundstrom assisted on Couturier’s first of the playoffs. He made his return to the lineup for Garnet Hathaway.

Emil Andrae was the other change to the lineup from Game 1. Noah Juulsen was a healthy scratch. His blunder in Game 1 led to the third Hurricanes goal.

Dan Vladar continues his emergence as the Flyers number one net-minder. Rebounding from a shaky Game 1, Vladar made 39 saves tonight.

Overtime was a period of missed opportunities for the Flyers.

Travis Konecny did not hit the net on a break-away. The power-play could only muster one shot on its opportunity. In total, 14 shots were fired at Freddie Anderson, all of which were saved.

The Flyers now return home for Game 3 on Thursday night at 8:00pm at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
