Pouliot To Phantoms; Bunnaman & Morin To Taxi-Squad; Gostisbehere Activated?

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Flyers made a flurry of moves. Moves that look like to be to activate Shayne Gostisbehere from Non-Roster Status on Tuesday before the Flyers faceoff against the Devils.

Due to the covid-19 protocol, teams are allowed to designate players as “non-roster status” to open up roster spots. Something the Flyers did with Gostisbehere, who was on the Covid-19 list, to open a roster spot for Connor Bunnaman on Monday.

Now, with Gostisbehere off the Covid-19 list & ready to return, the Flyers are opening up a roster spot for his return.

With an extra spot open on the taxi-squad, the Flyers recalled Derrik Pouliot from the Phantoms on Wednesday. Today, with that spot now needed, the Flyers returned Pouliot to the Phantoms.

Sam Morin, who was recalled from the taxi-squad on Thursday for the game & sent back Friday, went through the same process. Morin was recalled yesterday for the game & sent back to the taxi-squad again today.

Connor Bunnaman, who is replacing the injured Morgan Frost in the lineup, was also sent back to the taxi-squad today. Something that seems to be the new norm with teams saving cap-space. Bunnaman is expected to be recalled on Tuesday for the Flyers next game vs New Jersey.

With the three moves above, the Flyers now have a roster spot & the flexibility to move Shayne Gostisbehere to the active roster. Which, per head coach Alain Vigneault, Gostisbehere will return to practice on Monday. His status for Tuesday’s game is questionable.

Carter Hart Lets Out His Frustration

After giving up four or more goals for the third straight game, Flyers net-minder Carter Hart let out his frustration after last night’s 6-1 loss to the Bruins. Hart would break his stick over the cross-bar & throw his broken handle at the boards before exiting the ice.

“It just kinda boiled over. I regret doing that. I’m not a guy who gets angry too often,” Hart said after the game. “That was unprofessional of me to do that there at the end, so I apologize to everyone that saw that. Just heat of the moment.”

There was no reason for Hart to apologize. It was, like Hart said, “heat of the moment”. It just shows what great emotion Hart has for the game and how much he wants to win for the Philadelphia faithful. Gotta love Hart’s competitiveness.
