The Philadelphia Flyers made a flurry of moves Tuesday before their matchup with the New Jersey Devils. Moves to activate Shayne Gostisbehere from “non-roster status”.
To make room for Gostisbehere, the Flyers moved Phil Myers to IR. Myers move to IR was retro-dated to 1/19, the date of his injury. Myers is eligible to be activated tomorrow & will be activated when he is ready to return.
With Myers now on IR, the Flyers activated Shayne Gostisbehere to the active roster. As reported on Sunday, Gostisbehere made his return to Flyers practice yesterday. With everything going well, Gostisbehere is expected make his season debut tonight vs the Devils. Gostisbehere will be paired with Ivan Provorov & run the point on the Flyers 2nd power-play unit.
The Flyers also recalled Connor Bunnaman & Sam Morin from the taxi-squad for tonight’s game. If the Flyers did not move Myers to IR, only one could have been recalled with Gostisbehere being activated. Now, with two open roster spots, the Flyers recalled both.
Bunnaman is expected to center the 4th line again in between Michael Raffl & Nicolas Aube-Kubel. Sam Morin will be a healthy scratch.
