Flyers Struck By Injury Bug

The Philadelphia Flyers start training camp on Thursday with their first official on-ice workout. But, they will be without some important key players.

On Tuesday, the Flyers announced that Kevin Hayes, Wade Allison, & Sam Morin would all miss training camp.

Kevin Hayes is expected to be out 6-8 weeks after undergoing abdominal surgery this morning. Hayes injured himself yesterday during an on-ice workout.

According to head coach Alain Vigneault, Hayes felt something pull in his groin on the ice yesterday. This morning, Hayes had successful surgery on his abdomen.

Wade Allison is out indefinitely after injuring his ankle in the Flyers second rookie game on Sunday. Allison fell awkwardly on his right ankle.

The injury is believed to be a grade 3 high ankle sprain per source. Allison is still undergoing tests & surgery has not yet been ruled out.

“Wade will be out a while,” head coach Alain Vigneault said. “Anytime they say something will be an undetermined amount of time, it’s going to be a long time.”

Sam Morin is expected to be out 6-8 weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Morin injured his knee last week during a training session. 

No Vaccination Card Needed At Wells Fargo Center

The Wells Fargo Center announced on Monday that fans will not need vaccination cards to attend games.

However, fans must still wear masks while in attendance.
