NEW YORK: Tyson Foerster reached a milestone not many have accomplished in their young NHL careers. In particular, in Philadelphia.
For the second straight season, Foerster has reached the 20 goal mark. Something that had not been done in 25 years.
He became the first Flyers player to score 20 goals in their first two full NHL seasons since Simon Gagne in 2000 & 2001.
It wasn’t just one goal for Foerster tonight… not even two… it was three.
Foerster’s first career hat-trick capped off an 8 goal outburst by the Flyers. Their 4th win in 5 games under interim head coach Brad Shaw.
It was his sixth goal in his last five games.

The 3rd period provided some fireworks after a tight checking low event first two periods.
Flyers and Rangers combined for nine, yes nine, 3rd period goals. Of which, six where scored by the Flyers.
Tyson Foerster scored twice. Travis Sanheim scored. Jakob Pelletier scored. Sean Couturier scored. Owen Tippett scored. Did I forgot anyone.
It was hard to keep track with 9 goals being scored in the final 16:55 of the game.
Normally the Flyers would be on the other end of that stat in recent time with their goal-tending issues. But, Aleksei Kolosov, while shaky at times, made the necessary saves to keep the Flyers in the lead.
Even though Kolosov did allow three 3rd period goals.
