The Philadelphia Flyers take to the ice to start their 2024-25 season tonight in Vancouver. A game that will feature the NHL debuts of the latest two 1st round draft picks for the Flyers.

Matvei Michkov and Jett Luchanko will make their NHL debuts tonight. It will be the first time since 2019 the Flyers have two players making their NHL debuts in the same game in the season opener.

Luchanko will also be the youngest player in Flyers history to play in a game.

Sanuel Ersson will make his first career opening night start. Ersson, who enters his second full season in Philadelphia, was named the starter by head coach John Tortorella earlier in training camp.

The Flyers look to extend their opening night point streak to 10 games with at least a point tonight. Would become the just the fifth team in NHL history to record points in 10 straight season opening games.
