It was just over a year ago, 369 days to be exact, the infamous trade happened that sent Cutter Gauthier – 5th overall pick in 2022 – to the Anaheim Ducks.

Tonight, after meeting his former team for the first time just 11 days ago in Anaheim, got a taste of the Philadelphia crowd. One that was ready for his visit.

The narrative around Gauthier’s exit in Philadelphia obviously did not sit well with the fans. Especially after he made it known he did not want to play for the Flyers.

Well… in his first game in the building Flyers fans hoped to see him play in, gave him the honorary Welcome To Phildelphia.

Jamie Drysdale, the player acquired for Cutter Gauthier, was given a hero’s welcome all night. On the better end of  multiple “Jamie’s better” chants by the Philadelphia fans.

Even though with his struggles recently, Flyers fans still made sure to let the players on the ice know who they prepared in the orange and black.

His biggest roar came after extending the Flyers lead to 2-0 in the 1st period. Ending a 26 game goal-less drought.

Owen  Tippett ended an 8 game goal-less drought in the 2nd period. Scoring on an odd man rush with Travis Konecny.

The play that started with Cutter Gauthier dumping the puck into the Flyers zone for a line change. One that had a little too much juice on it and allowed the Flyers a quick breakout for the odd man rush.

His 12th goal of the season was his first point in 4 games.

Konecny’s assist was his third point of the game, finishing the game with four. It is his 12th multi-point game of the season and second in the last three games.

In his last 6 games, he has 4 goals and 4 assists.
