Cam Atkinson Hat-Trick

Cam Atkinson is known for a lot of things in the NHL. All of which produced a goal for the Flyers tonight.

One staple in Atkinson’s game is his penalty killing ability. Tonight, Atkinson had 3-shorthanded shots and a short handed goal.

Another staple is his forechecking. Which, since being paired with Claude Giroux on Flyers 2nd line, has been the line’s motto. Making it tough on opposing teams to handle the puck.

On the night, Atkinson finished with 3-goals, 1-assist, +5, & 7-shots in 17:13 of ice-time.

Rasmus Ristolainen Best Game As A Flyer

When the Flyers acquired Rasmus Ristolainen, many had their doubts. Doubts about a player that had spent his whole career with an organization who won 35-games just once in his 8-year career.

After an injury halted his debut, Ristolainen has slowly been making it known why the Flyers acquired him.

Game after game, night after night, Ristolainen is proving everyone wrong. Showing that it wasn’t a fluke why the Flyers gave up so much to get him.

Tonight, in his best game yet as a Flyer, Ristolainen had the primary assist on each of the Flyers first two goals. Finishing the night with 2-assists, +2, 3-shots, & 6-hits in 22:01 of ice-time.

Travis Sanheim Ends Goal-less Drought

One player the Flyers needed to get going was Travis Sanheim. Tonight, Sanheim got his first goal of the season. Breaking a 34-game goal-less drought.

Entering tonight, Sanheim had just 5-points this season. Just 2-points in his last 18-games.

Sanheim has double-digit points in each of his five-seasons in the NHL.

After scoring the Flyers first goal, Sanheim finished with 1-goal, 1-assist, +3, & 2-shots in 22:49 of ice-time.

Flyers Continue Historic Stretch Vs Devils

The Flyers and Devils have played 104-times. With the Devils leading the series 60-44.

However, one thing the Devils have never done is swept the Flyers in a season series. Something the Devils had the chance to do tonight.

After beating the Flyers 5-2 & 3-0 in New Jersey, the Devils could have swept the season series. But, the Flyers had other plans.

The Flyers took it to the Devils from the opening puck drop. Beating the Devils by a final score of 6-1.
