The one thing the Flyers look to improve on is making the simpler play. Something that currently is causing the Flyers problems when exiting their own zone.
“Just not making the right plays,” forward Travis Konecny said. “That kind of kills momentum when you don’t get it in and get pressure on their D. It kind of frees them up to create offense going back the other way.”
Not making the right play has caused the Flyers to play more east-to-west instead of their game-plan of north-to-south. Which has resulted in bad turnovers leading to opposing goals.
“You just got to get pucks deep. Get behind their D,” forward Kevin Hayes said.
Tonight, the Flyers look to end a two-game losing streak to the Capitals. Who have not only taken all 4-points in the past two-games, but have also won 5 of last 6 games in Philadelphia.
“The good thing is we got these guys coming up in two days,” forward Scott Laughton said. “We’re going to get some rest here. They’ve come into our home building in the last week or so and have taken four points from us. We’ve got to be prepared and make it harder on them.”
