It took until 3:53 left in the 3rd period for Detroit to find the back of the net.

Aleksei Kolosov made his first start as the official Flyers backup tonight. Being dawned the number two goalie on the depth chart by John Tortorella this morning.

Kolosov, who did not make the roster out of training camp, has been a pleasant surprise since being recalled. Especially as of late in the absence of starter Samuel Ersson.

Ivan Fedotov, who started the season as the backup, has also been good as well. But, John Tortorella has really grown confident in his counterpart, Kolosov, as of late.

Sound familiar?

Back in 2022-23, in Tortorella’s first season in charge, a similar situation happened with Samuel Ersson. Something that led to Ersson becoming the heir to the Flyers starter the following season over Felix Sandstrom.

The Flyers have points in five of his six last starts. Four, of which, have been wins.
