Scott Laughton has been the heart and soul of the Flyers over the past few seasons.
His leadership, hand picked by John Tortorella to serve as only player with a letter in 2022, has helped mold this team for the future. Something that may be one of his last acts in a Flyers uniform.
With trade rumors once again swirling around Laughton, his time in Philadelphia may be coming to an end.
Tonight, however, he went about himself like he always does. Put his head down from the start and was the same player he always is.
In the 1st period, Laughton would score his 11th goal of the season. Travis Konecny slid the pass to Laughton, springing him on the break-away.
One of the new Flyers, Andrei Kuzmenko, would also get an assist. Kuzmenko started the play with a backhanded outlet pass right to the stick of Konecny.
With the 4-Nations break now here, his 106th career goal in a Flyers uniform may have been just a little bit more special with the unknown of whats to come.

Garnet Hathaway has scored 72 goals in his NHL career.
From his facial reaction, he probably is wondering how they aren’t all this easy to score.
In the 2nd period, Hathaway scored a goal in the easiest way possible, a deflection of his body. But, not how you think.
Hathaway split two Pittsburgh defenders in a race for the puck up ice. As Penguins goalie Joel Blomqvist tried to beat clear the zone with the puck, the puck would hit the charging Hathaway.
The puck would hit his shoulder and then bounce into the net. Leading to his priceless facial reaction and look to sky thinking why can’t they all be this easy.
His 8th goal of the season was a new career high in his two season in Philadelphia.

Samuel Ersson made 32 saves in the 3-2 win over the Penguins. Ending a three game losing streak.
Andrei Kuzmenko had in an assist in his first game in a Flyers uniform. Played 18:53 in his debut.
Jakub Pelletier debut will have to wait until after the break. Some paperwork still needed to be finalized today, which held him out from playing.
Next up, the Edmonton Oilers on Edmonton Oilers on February 22nd at 1:00 pm at the Wells Fargo Center.
