Oskar Lindblom is an inspiration. Oskar Lindblom will brighten any room he steps in. But, the main thing Oskar Lindblom is… a survivor.
In December of 2019, Oskar Lindblom was diagnosed with ewing Sarcoma. A diagnosis that changed his life forever.
But, Lindblom fought. Fought in a way that made him stronger. A way that made him Oskar Strong.
Since beating beating cancer, Lindblom has become an inspiration to so many people.
“You want to be the person that sends positive vibes,” Lindblom said about being an inspiration. “As long as I can spread the word a little bit, I’m happy.”
While Lindblom isn’t always the most outgoing person, being an inspiration is something he takes pride in. Something that has been aided by the Flyers.
The Flyers have not only been supported Oskar through his full journey. They have also made it a focus to bring light to Oskar’s situation.
“I’m just happy to be in such a great organization,” Lindblom said about what the Flyers mean to him. “I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me.”
But, the one person Lindblom can’t thank enough isn’t just one person. It’s the Philadelphia fans.
On January 11 2020, a month after his diagnosis, Lindblom got a standing ovation from the Philadelphia faithful. Something that Lindblom called “special” & a moment he will never forget.
On Sunday, the Flyers will participate in the NHLs Hockey Fights Cancer initiative. During the game, Lindblom will be honored by the Flyers.
“They’ve been helping me all the way and have so kind to me,” Lindblom said about the fans. “I can’t thank them enough.”
While Oskar continues to thank the fans, it is the fans who want to thank you Oskar. #OskarStrong
