The one thing the Flyers must overcome tonight is the possibility for a big letdown. A letdown that started after the Flyers went up 2-0 on Saturday.

Head coach Alain Vigneault’s message of better 5v5 play was received well during the 1st period on Saturday. But, faded shortly thereafter. The Flyers must continue to work towards solving their issues at 5v5 before their goal-tending hits a rough stretch & can’t bail them out.

Whether it was out-forechecked or out-hustled, the Flyers must shake this old habit of playing poor defensive zone hockey. Something Kevin Hayes said is easy as “getting back to basics. Getting the puck deep, limiting their chances, generating more chances than the other team and trying to get yourself the best chance to win.”

With the win last night, the Flyers got revenge on the Islanders & ended a four-game losing streak. Tonight, the Flyers look to extend their win-streak to four games.

“It’s like a mother or father sometimes making tough decisions with their children. It’s not that they don’t love their children, they’re trying to get them to do the right things,” Alain Vigneault said about benching Travis Konecny. “That is what I am doing with TK. Want him to play the right way. Really believe he is real good player. Think he is in our top three forwards.”
