The one thing the Flyers couldn’t afford was a letdown. But, with a late scratch of Sean Couturier, the Flyers struggles from the final 20-minutes on Thursday reappeared.
After giving up three goals in a span of 7:26 in the 3rd period on Thursday, the Flyers gave up four goals in a span of 8:46 in the 1st period on Saturday. ConcedIng three or more goals in period in a game for the 7th time in their last 11-games.
This has led the Flyers to look for answers. Something that isn’t just one problem. But, multiple problems that don’t seem to be visible or obvious.
“If I could put a finger on it, I’d have fixed it already,” head coach Alain Vigneault said.
The Flyers responded on Thursday after being blown out by the Rangers on Wednesday. Tonight, start a 4-game-home-stand with their season on the line and look to rebound & avenge their 6-1 loss from Saturday.
“We have to stop chasing games and it has to stop now,” forward Travis Konecny said. “We have to keep the games tighter and make the right plays. Have to give ourselves a chance to stay in the game. Know what we have to do, we just need to execute.”
