PHILADELPHIA – Tyson Foerster scored the lone goal in the shootout as the Flyers came back and beat the visiting Carolina Hurricanes 3-2.

With the win, the Flyers punched their ticket to the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs. A matchup with their cross state rival Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round.

After Carolina scored twice in the first period, two Flyers goals in a span of 2:33 tied the game in the second period.

Matvei Michkov’s 19th goal of the season was the first. Finishing off an incredible play by Porter Martone.

Martone went hard in on the forecheck to win the puck before skating to the bench to change. Michkov jumped over the boards and Denver Barkey hit the slashing Michkov for the goal.

Trevor Zegras 26th goal of the season tied the game on the power-play. Again, set up by Martone.

Tyson Foerster won a board battle before the puck found Martone’s stick. He slid a cross ice pass to Zegras in-front, who beat Brandon Bussi five-hole.

Dan Vladar was outstanding in net once again. His 34th start this season allowing two or fewer goals.

His biggest save came with 1.7 left in overtime, robbing Bradly Nadeau. He then went a perfect four for four in the shootout to earn his 29th win of the season.

The Flyers do have one more game before the start of the playoffs. Will face the Montreal Canadians tomorrow night at Xfinity Mobile Arena at 7:00pm.
