The Flyers finish their road portion of their preseason schedule tonight in New York against the Islanders.
Head coach John Tortorella will take the reins for the 1st time behind the Flyers bench tonight. Tortorella was supposed to take over last night in Boston. However, Tortorella took in an extra game from the press box.
Tonights lineup will feature many of the Flyers who could be cut as early as tomorrow. With Tuesday being the Flyers final preseason game, expect Tuesday’s lineup to be a dress rehearsal for opening night.
Noah Cates, who has been used primarily on the wing in camp, will get a look at center. With Sean Couturier out, the Flyers are still trying to figure out who their other two centers are behind Kevin Hayes & Morgan Frost.
Troy Grosenick & Samuel Ersson are expected to split the game in net. Ersson will start the game. Grosenick will come in the 3rd period.
