In what the Flyers hoped was just one game, their woes from last night’s 6-1 loss to the New York Rangers continued tonight. Losing their second straight by a big margin.

Once again the Flyers opened the scoring, before allowing multiple straight goals.

Tyson Foerster finished off a 2v1 rush set up by Eric Johnson in the defensive zone.

His 13th goal of the season was created by a flip pass up the boards by Travis Konecny. Foerster then used the threat of Bobby Brink to pull Ilya Sorokin just enough off the post.

It was his first goal in 10 games.

Thereafter, however, like last night, it would be all Islanders.

New York would score three unanswered. The first two coming just 55-seconds apart late in the 1st period.

Brock Nelson would score late in the 2nd period on a very weak shot on the rush. Putting a pin in the Flyers push for a comeback.

Ilya Sorokin didn’t make as many saves as the Flyers forced Igor Shesterkin to make last night. But, made two huge ones in the 2nd period on Matvei Michkov and Sean Couturier.

Ivan Fedotov made 24 saves in the loss. His fifth straight loss in net for the Flyers.

Erik Johnson returned to the lineup for his first game action since November 20th.

Egor Zamula was a late scratch just before warmups. Flyers later announced he missed the game with an upper-body ailment.

Flyers fall to 22-22-6 on the season.

Next up, the New Jersey Devils Monday night at 7:00pm at the Wells Fargo Center.
