The Philadelphia Flyers lost their fifth straight game Tuesday night at the Wells Fargo Center. Losing to the Washington Capitals 4-1.

If the home opener was an indication of how the Flyers would perform on home ice this season, tonight was no different.
Thru the first 40-minutes, a goal on home ice was still yet to be scored. A streak that lasted 100:24 before Travis Sanheim scored just 24-seconds into the 3rd period.
Sanheim’s first goal of the season made it a 2-1 game before the Capitals regained a two goal lead just 64 seconds later.
Tonights performance, however, was much better than Saturday’s home opener vs the Vancouver Canucks. Well… minus the two shorthanded break-away goals by the Capitals and a three shot 2nd period by the Flyers.

The Flyers were much better at even strength tonight. One could say their jet-lag, which was very evident on Saturday, had worn completely off.
But, the Flyers sloppy and sluggish play in the 1st period continued.
Washington scored both of their shorthanded goals in the 1st period and were outshooting the Flyers 7-3 before finding their legs midway thru the period.
Even with finding their legs, lack of puck luck and some mild frustration set in over the final 40 minutes. A time frame where the Flyers had just 8 shots on net.

Lineup Changes Coming
John Tortorella tried to jump start his Flyers squad with some line up changes tonight against the Capitals. One in particular, Nic Deslauriers, tried his best to give his team a boost.
But, even with Deslauriers spirited fight with Dylan McIlrath in the 1st period, it was not even to get the Flyers out of their funk.
Deslauriers and Noah Cates drew into the lineup for Tyson Foerster and Jett Luchanko in the opening leg of the back to back with the Capitals.
For tomorrows game in Washington, expect Foerster and Luchanko back in the lineup for the Flyers. But, the question is… For who?

Welcome Little Sarge Jr
Before the game, the Flyers tweeted the arrival of the newest Flyer. Well, little Flyer.
Scott Laughton and his wife Chloe welcomed their first child – Reed Leo Laughton – yesterday.
