Game Recaps

Flyers Taken To Another Galaxy By Bruins

The Philadelphia Flyers dropped their second straight game Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Center. Losing 5-2 to the Boston Bruins.

After standing tall on the first 19-Bruins 1st period shots, one Flyers mistake gave the Bruins a 1-0. Tomas Nosek scoring with 1:35 left in the 1st period.

The Bruins would take a 2-0 lead just 30-seconds into the 2nd period. Justin Braun would deflect one past his own goalie for the own goal.

But, just 52-seconds later, the Flyers would respond. Derick Brassard would get his first of two goals on the night.

Just before the midway point of the game, Brassard would get his second. This time on the power-play. The Flyer first power-play goal in three-games.

It would be all Bruins after that. Outshooting the Flyers 16-6 over the next 30-minutes. Scoring 3-goals on those 16-shots.

Martin Jones stopped 39 of the 44 shots he faced in the losing effort.

400th Game In Flyers Uniform For James van Riemsdyk

After being drafted 2nd overall by the Flyers in 2007, James van Riemsdyk has reached a milestone.

Playing his 813th career game, it would be his 400th in a Flyers uniform. Reaching 400-games played in the NHL with his second team. (Toronto Maple Leafs)

In his Flyers career, van Riemsdyk has 112-goals & 124-assists.

Tonight, in game #400, van Riemsdyk was pointless in 14:58 of ice-time.

Finally.. A Power-Play Goal

The Flyers power-play this season has been horrific. Entering tonight, the Flyers power-play was just 7 for 48 on the season.

After failing to score on their first two attempt on the night, the Flyers power-play struck. Breaking a 0 for 8 stretch.

In their first game against the Bruins, the Flyers scored on both of their power-play opportunities.

Tonight, the Flyers were 1 for 5 on the power-play.

Is It Morgan Frost Time?

With the impending bad news on a Kevin Hayes’s injury, could it be time for the Flyers top prospect?

With Hayes missing the last two-games & still no update on his status, the Flyers need a jump. Especially after losing their second straight game.

The Flyers need a jump & one could be given by Morgan Frost. Who is very much in line for a call-up.

On the season, Frost has 3-goals & 12-assists in 16-games this season with the Phantoms.

Result : Flyers 2 – Bruins 5 , LOSS

Record :   8 – 5 – 3

Next Game : Tuesday 11/23 @ Tampa Bay Lightning , Tampa FL , 7:00pm
