The Philadelphia Flyers lost for the sixth time in their last seven games Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

Samuel Ersson made 26 saves in the Flyers 3-2 shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets,

Travis Konecny, named to his second all-star game before puck drop, had both Flyers goals. His 19th & 20th goals of the season were both assisted by Sean Couturier (16th & 17th) and Joel Farabee (16th & 17th).

“It’s pretty difficult,” Konecny mentioned of the Flyers travel post Christmas break. It was the Flyers 5th game in 8 days over four times zones since returning from the break.

Konecny added “this time of year is where, you know, a lot of guys for us are learning and it’s tough you know. It’s every game is gonna be tough.”

Philadelphia (19-13-6) is 3-1-1 in its last five home games.

Columbus would answer back just 65 seconds after Konecny’s second of the night. The Blue Jackets would tie the game just before the 10-minute mark of the third period.

The Flyers power-play continued to struggle. Failing to score on three power-play opportunities. Including a full two minutes of 5v3.

After neither team could find the back of the net in overtime, the game was decided in a shootout.

New Jersey native Johnny Gaudreau would get the lone goal in the shootout for Columbus to win the game.
