The Philadelphia Flyers lost to the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center. Ending a 17-game winning streak in Philadelphia over the Blackhawks.

Morgan Frost scored the lone goal for the Flyers in the 1st period. Frost’s 10th of the season was his second goal in as many games.

The Flyers power-play, which had a goal in three of the last four games, was held scoreless on two attempts.

Carter Hart made 25-saves on 28-shots in the losing effort. It was the four time in the past five starts that Hart has given up three or more goals.

Morgan Frost Hits Double Digits

On December 4th, Morgan Frost was struggling to find his game. Something that led John Tortorella to describe Frost’s game as a toilet seat.

The next night, Frost got his first point in five games. It was just his 6th point of the season thru 25-games.

Since that assist, Frost’s game has taken off. Scoring 7-goals & 10-assists in the next 21-games.

Tonight, Frost’s goal in the 1st period was his 10th of the season. Eclipsing double digit for the first time in his career.

Decision Time For The Flyers

Today is the final day of Felix Sandstrom’s conditioning stint with the Phantoms. Now, the Flyers have a decision to make with who will be Carter Hart’s backup.

Samuel Ersson has impressed in his 6-starts in the NHL so far. Posting a 5-0-0 record with 2.37 GAA & .918%.

Felix Sandstrom posted a 4-1-2 record with 2.39 GAA & .911% during his conditioning stint with the Phantoms.

Sandstrom must be placed on waivers to be sent back to the Phantoms. Ersson is waivers exempt.

Flyers Dominance Against Blackhawks Ends

The Flyers dominance over the Blackhawks in Philadelphia came to an end. A dominance that lasted 26-years.18th straight win over the Blackhawks in the regular season in Philadelphia.

Chicago ended a 17-game losing streak in the regular season to the Flyers in Philadelphia. It was their first win since November 9, 1996.
