After last night’s loss to the Washington Capitals, head coach John Tortorella had already turned the page and was focused on the Ottawa Senators. Mentioning that was his message to his team.

In the 1st period, that message was well received.

The Flyers outshot the Senators 20-4 (33-11 in shot attempts) and scored the opening just 68 seconds into the game.

However, much like last night in Washington, the Flyers came out flat in the 2nd period and lost all momentum. Leading to the Senators tying the game just over four minutes into the 2nd period.

In a game the Flyers were dominating, it was starting to look like much of the same as last night.

But, the Flyers kept their composure tonight and retook the lead late in the period thanks to Tyson Foerster.

Foerster scored his 15th and 16th goals of the season in the final 46 seconds of the 2nd period. His 16th goal coming on a penalty shot with 1.5 seconds left.

In his first start of the season, Felix Sandstrom shut the door on the Senators. Stopping 24-shots in the 4-2 win.

Trade Deadline Looming

With the Flyers splitting their back to back, it could now be decision time for their direction at the trade deadline. A decision that could lead to a push for the playoffs.

Many believe, with just two games until the deadline, the Flyers decision would come on Sunday. Mainly in part to how they did in the back to back.

SCORE: Senators 2 – Flyers 4 , WIN

RECORD: 32 – 23 – 7

NEXT GAME: Monday 3/4 vs St Louis Blues
