In the first period, Cam York would originally be credited with the assist on the Flyers opening goal. But, after review, York’s cross ice pass intended for Sean Couturier would deflect off a Red Wings stick and past Alex Lyon.
York’s goal was his 5th of the season.
Assisting on York’s goal was Travis Konecny. Konecny’s 9th assist of the season was a big one. It was his 200th career assist in the NHL.
Samuel Ersson, who made his third straight start for the Flyers, picked up his 7th win of the season.
In the win, Ersson stopped all 34 Red Wings shots fired his way. His second shutout of the season.
Over his last seven starts, the Flyers are 6-0-1 with Ersson in net.
