“Just was a little quiet in the building so I figured I’d ask him.”
Joel Farabee took it upon himself to get the Philadelphia crowd into the game early. Dropping the gloves with Maple Leafs forward Connor Dewar just before the 5 minute mark of the game.
It was the first Flyers home game of 2025 and first since December 21st.
“Thankfully he gave me one,” Farabee told the ESPN+ broadcast after the 1st period. “He’s a really good guy.”
It was Farabee’s second fight of the season and 12th of his career.
Less than five minutes later, the Flyers struck first and took a 1-0 lead. A bonus to the energy brought by Farabee’s fight.

Travis Konecny would score his first of two goals in the 1st period. Capitalizing on the energy from the fight.
Konecny was doubling shifting for Farabee while in the box and scored with Farabee’s linemates, Sean Couturier and Garnet Hathaway.
His second goal of the game would come at 4v4. Created in part to the forechecking by Noah Cates.
Cates stole the puck from a Maple Leaf defense in the corner and slid a pass to Konecny in-front. He then went five-hole after a slick forward-backhand move.
It was his 19th and 20th goals of the season.
