There was a feeling from the players in the locker room last night after the Flyers 4-1 loss that their play hasn’t been bad, but the puck just isn’t bouncing their way right now. Well, that continued tonight in Washington.
The Flyers lost 6-3 to the Washington Capitals Wednesday night at Capital One Arena. It was their sixth straight loss, fourth straight in regulation, and have fallen to 1-5-1 on the season.
During the six game losing streak, the Flyers have been out-scored 29-14 : 13-4 in the last three games alone.
Travis Konecny provided some life to the lifeless power-play in the 2nd period. Scoring just their second power-play goal in their last 17 opportunities.
A spark maybe?
On their next power-play, Matvei Michkov found the back of the net. A seeing eye shot from the far dot to the back post.

Owen Tippett finally broke through for his first goal of the season. The Flyers leading shot taker finally got some puck luck and fluttered a change-up past Logan Thompson.
Midway thru the 2nd period, John Tortorella and Nick Seeler had a heated exchange on the Flyers bench. One that finished with Tortorella signaling to Rocky Thompson to deal with it.
Postgame, the two were not shy to talk about the exchange. Tortorella mentioning that he and Seeler have one of those at least once a game.
“You know, we may get in a, you know, a little argument like that, but at the end of the day, he always has our back, and every single guy on that bench he cares about and has their back,” Seeler said.
“All it is is two men that care about what’s going on the ice. I love that guy, and that stuff is, that is, that’s good for us,” Tortorella added.

Early in the 3rd period, Ryan Poehling blocked a point shot that left him down on the ice in pain.
After slowing making his way to the bench, Poehling went down the tunnel with the aide of the Flyers medical staff. But, later on in the period, he did return to the game.
Ivan Fedotov stopped 18 of the 22 shots fired his way in the losing effort. While the scoreline says one thing, three of the four goals were not his fault.
The Flyers return to action Saturday in Philadelphia against the Minnesota Wild.
