After officially being eliminated on Thursday, the Flyers now look to build for next season. Which, over the final 6-games, will provide some insight into next seasons team.
On Thursday, Kevin Hayes was pulled from the lineup for Carsen Twarynski. A move that head coach Alain Vigneault hinted was because of his recent play over the past few months.
“Most of our five-on-five opportunities have come from Coots’ line,” head coach Alain Vigneault said. “We need others to contribute more.”
Tonight, with nothing else to play for, the Flyers look to start to build chemistry for next season. Something that could lead to more ice time for young Flyers.
“It’s definitely not the way we saw the year going,” forward Scott Laughton said. “We had very high expectations and it didn’t happen. It’s frustrating.”
