The Flyers continue to fall deeper and deeper away from their former selves. While their season is over, their bad habits & just poor play continues to get worse.
Whether it be frustration or no just pride, the Flyers seem to continue to fall behind. With just 5-games left in the season, it is hard to find something to play for because you have nothing to play for.
“You can use a bunch of words. You can use frustration, you can use pride, you can use whatever,” head coach Alain Vigneault said. “Think for the most part, our guys are trying to do the right things and I’m trying to put them in a situation where they can be the most successful on the ice.”
After being swept in the final 3-games of their mini 4-games series with the Devils, the Flyers now start back-to-back vs the Penguins. A series the Flyers could play spoiler in with the Penguins quest for the East Division title.
“We’re making mistakes right now that usually we don’t make,” forward Claude Giroux said. “A little bit of doubt in our game, and that’s what happens.”
