The games have been adding up for Joel Farabee, who has been stuck on three goals for the season.

It hasn’t been from a lack of trying as he has been one of, if not the best, Flyers at creating offense lately. But, just hasn’t been able to finish one.

Shortly after Utah took a 1-0, 19-seconds to be exact, Farabee finally was rewarded with a goal. An easy one to say the least.

His 4th goal of the season was a tap in after Nick Seeler’s shot from the right dot squeaked by Jaxson Stauber.

Seeler would also get an assist on the Flyers second goal. It was his second multi-point game of the season.

After going the first 27-minutes without a goal for either side, Utah finally broke the 0-0 tie.

Utah’s first goal of the game would start a combined five goal outburst by two teams over the next 8:29 of play. The Flyers being on the wrong end of the scoring line.

Owen Tippet got the second of two Flyers goals during the stretch.

His 8th goal of the season was his fourth in his last four games. All of which have been assisted by Matvei Michkov.

Michkov’s assist extended his point streak to four games. It was his 5th assist in his last four games.

Unlike the past two games, the penalties called tonight felt more balanced. Not favoring either team like it has been over the past two games against the Flyers.

John Tortorella was very critical of the referee’s, and to some degree the Bruins players as well, yesterday in Boston. Leading to his postgame statement before answering any questions from the media.

Tonight, very quickly, it was evident the league took notice to his comments as the Flyers went to the power-play just 2:13 into the game. One that was borderline at best like the ones that have been going against them the past few games.

The Flyers still took their faith share of what Tortorella calls “dumb penalties”. Including one by Tyson Foerster in the 2nd period, during which Utah scored the game winner.

For the Flyers, the power-play had scored in two straight games. But, when they needed a goal the most, Morgan Frost would whiff on the drop pass during a late power-play. Resulting in a break-away and goal for Utah.

Samuel Ersson made his first start after missing the last 11-games. Making his first start since November 11th.

In his return, he made 21 saves in the 4-2 loss.

Jamie Drysdale also made his return from injured reserve. Returning to the lineup after missing the past 12 games.

He thought he tied the game early in the 3rd period. But, it was called back for goalie interence.

The Flyers fall to 12-12-4 on the season. Next up, the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday in Columbus at 7:00pm.
