The Philadelphia Flyers lost their 12th straight game Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center. Losing to the Dallas Stars 3-1.
In need of a good start, once again the Flyers fell short. Giving up the games first goal for the 10th time in their 11-games.
Roope Hintz would get to a loose puck in center after the three Flyers all pinched at the Dallas blue-line. Hintz would beat Carter Hart five-hole on the break-away to give Dallas the 1-0 with 2:14 left in the 1st period.
After a back & forth first half of the 2nd period, the Flyers would finally get a bounce to go their way. A bounce that would time the game.
With 7:54 left in the 2nd period, Ivan Provorov would throw a puck on net from the corner. The puck would deflect off Stars defenseman John Klingberg’s skate and past Jake Oettinger for the goal.
In the 3rd period, the Flyers had their chances. But, none would make it by Oettinger and with 3:25 left, Dallas would net the game winner.
Jacob Peterson would fire on high over Carter Hart’s blocker for the goal.
With the Flyers net empty, Joe Pavelski would net the empty netter with 1:37 left.
Carter Hart stopped 33 of the 35 shots he faced in the losing effort.
Keith Yandle Ties NHL Record
On March 26, 2009, Keith Yandle played in his 109th career game. But, on that night, Yandle himself would not know what would happen after that.
After 13-years, the 35-year-old Yandle has not missed a game since. A streak that now ties the NHL record for consecutive games plays. A record that had been held for 35-years by Doug Jarvis.
From 1975 to 1987, Doug Jarvis played 964-consecutive games. From March 26th 2009 to January 24th 2022, Keith Yandle has played 964-consecutive games.
In his record tying game, Yandle had a shot in 13:39 of ice time.
