Superstitious maybe?
For the third straight game, the Flyers coaching staff – led by head coach John Tortorella – wore the same sweatshirts. The same sweatshirts they wore for military appreciation night on Monday.
The Flyers 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres was also their third straight win.
Coincidence or superstition maybe? Whatever it is, the Flyers coaching staff is certainly keeping it fun as the Flyers have now won 7 games in their last 11 games played.
What also is fun? A power-play goal… well, when they happen it is.
Tyson Foerster gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead late in the 1st period on the power-play. Foerster rammed home a rebound off a Joel Farabee shot from the left dot. Ending a 7 game goal-less drought.
His third goal of the season came mere seconds after Bobby Brink won a 1v3 battle in front to get the puck to the point and keep it in the zone.

Just 2:04 later, Travis Sanheim would double the Flyers lead. His second goal in as many games.
Sanheim’s fifth goal of the season came after extended offensive zone pressure by the Flyers after the opening goal.
It was Sanheim’s second straight multi-point game.
Egor Zamula and Travis Konecny would extend the lead to 4-0 in 2nd period. Both of which, were assisted by Matvei Michkov.
Michkov, in his three games since the healthy scratches, has 5 points – 2 goals + 3 assists. Response delivered by the 19 year old rookie.
Ivan Fedotov made 22 saves to win his third straight game. Improves to 3-3-0 on the season.
Anthony Richard extended his point streak to four games with a pair of assists. In five games since his recall, Richard has 2 goals and 4 assists.

Erik Johnson, who the Flyers acquired from the Sabres last trade deadline, played in career game #1000. Becoming just the 403rd player in NHL history to reach 1000 games.
After starting the season 1-5-1, the Flyers have finally found themselves over the past 11 games. Improving to 7-3-1, the second best record in the NHL during that stretch.
The Flyers are back to .500 on the season, 8-8-2. Next up, the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night at 7:00pm.
