Matvei Michkov, the 7th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, scored his first career goal in the NHL in the 1st period against the Edmonton Oilers.

In his third game in the NHL, the 19-year-old rookie opened the scoring on the power-play in Edmonton vs the Oilers.

Michkov knew immediately the puck was across the line. But, had to first wait out a review and then a goalie interference challenge before officially getting his first career goal.

But, Michkov didn’t stop there.

Just 4:34 later, Michkov got his second goal of the game. Again, on the power-play.
