The first thing the Flyers must overcome tonight is the ability to shake off a bad performance quickly. In their first true test of adversity, the Flyers will have to rebound in less than 24-hours of their 6-1 loss to the Sabres.
After beating the Penguins by a combined six goals in their first two games, the Flyers did a poor job of supporting each other in all aspects of the game. Being swarmed by the Sabres in their own zone & giving up three goals off of turnovers.
Last season, the Flyers did not lose back to back games over the final 27-games of the regular season.
“I think if I’m a player, if I’m part of the coaching staff which I am, I’m embarrassed by how we played tonight,” head coach Alain Vigneault said after last night’s 6-1 loss. “I’m happy we can get right back at it tomorrow and prove what type of team we are. I expect a much better game from us. Much better execution. Much harder to play against and I’m confident that that is what we are going to see tomorrow.”
