After blowing 3rd period leads in back-to-back games vs the Bruins, the Flyers look to rebound against the Capitals. A team who has also been on the losing end lately. Losing their last three games.

The Flyers, who look like they will get Sean Couturier back, are hoping his return provides a spark. A spark that will hopefully improve their game defensively. Something that has struggled over the last 11-games without Couturier in the lineup.

“He’s a big part of our team. You’re more confident when you have him out there on the ice,” forward Oskar Lindblom said on Couturier’s impact when in the lineup. “He’s always going to help you to push forward. Even if it’s a defensive play or offensive play, he’s going to be a top guy on our team. He’s huge for our team and I can’t say any bad things about him out there.”

With Couturier’s return imminent, Connor Bunnaman is expected to leave the lineup. Something that Bunnaman said “it’s not my control, it’s not my decision.” But, Bunnaman knows he will “be ready for when my name’s called” again.

The Flyers look to end a two-game losing streak & extend their winning streak to four against the Capitals today.

“Think we matched up against them well last year,” goalie Carter Hart said on the recent success vs the Capitals. “We know that they’ve got some players who can really score, especially Ovi. They’ve got a good team, and so do we, so it’ll be a good matchup, first time playing them this year, and we’re looking forward to it.”
