It was day #3 of Philadelphia Flyers training camp on Saturday. As another season continues to get closer, many battles are just getting started.

For the third straight day, head coach Alain Vigneault kept the lines the same. Sticking to the same groups as the first two days of training camp.
In Group A, two new Flyers continued to shine. Line-mates Derick Brassard & Cam Atkinson, along with Oskar Lindblom, dominated the group.
Lindblom-Brassard-Atkinson could very possibly be the Flyers 3rd line on opening night. The three showed great chemistry & showed great promise against the Flyers potential top line, Claude Giroux-Sean Couturier-Travis Konecny, throughout the day.

In Group B, it would the Flyers 4th line which would shine. Scott Laughton-Nate Thompson-Nicolas Aube-Kubel were not just the best line in Group B, but also the best line all day.
Also in the 2nd group, the Flyers potential 2nd line, James van Riemsdyk-Morgan Frost-Joel Farabee, had a much better day. After struggling to find their stride the first two days, the line was much better today.
With the fundamentals part of training camp over, it is now on to scrimmages. The Flyers will scrimmage tomorrow at 11:00am.

Training Camp Notes
- Injured forward Wade Allison was in attendance on Saturday. Allison was supporting a walking boot on his right foot & is still out indefinitely.
- Tanner Laczynski was absent from today’s practice. During his media availability, head coach Alain Vigneault said Laczynski “tweaked” something in his hip. Followed it up with Laczynski is still being evaluated and an update would be provided tomorrow.
- Keith Yandle continues to look like a great signing by the Flyers. Yandle was impressive again on both sides of the ice, offensively & defensively. Yandle is expected to quarterback the Flyers top power-play unit this season.
- Cam Atkinson continued to stand out in his first Flyers camp. Atkinson is a player who never takes a shift off & it shows in training camp. Going down to one knee & blocking a shot during a drill. Which got stick taps from his teammates.
- The Oskar Lindblom-Derick Brassard-Cam Atkinson line continues to shine in camp. The three have found some good chemistry so far. All three have stood out. Including their celebrations whenever someone scores.
- CEO Dave Scott addressed the state of the Flyers. Scott said the team is “well positioned for future.” Even with offseason moves, Scott said GM Chuck Fletcher was able to “keep the funnel full.”

Oskar Lindblom Remains Cancer Free
On Friday, head coach provided the media with some good news. News surrounding Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom.
“Oscar went in for his scan; he’s cancer-free still,” Vigneault said on Friday. “That’s real positive.”
It’s been over two years since Oskar Lindblom’s last cancer treatment. To know Lindblom is cancer free, is a huge bright spot to start the season.
