Back to backs have been a thorn in the Flyers side this season. Something that could be a result of the goalie carousel going on.

So far this season, their record in the latter game, 1-6-0, is the worst in the NHL.

Ivan Fedotov started for the third time this season in the second half of a back to back. Looking for his first win since November 29th.

Fedotov, who has regained the backup spot over Aleksei Kolosov, allowed four or more goals in his previous two back to back starts. Tonight, though, it was a different story.

In his third start since returning to the lineup, he made the timely saves the Flyers needed to get a point. None bigger than the one on Damon Severson early in the 3rd period. Sprawling across the crease to making a diving save.

Fedotov finished the night with 26 saves in the shootout loss.

John Tortorella made the point before the game that on some nights he isn’t sure which line is the top line.

With the Flyers in the midst of 8 game in 14 day stretch, its something that has led to the Flyers consistently rolling all four lines.

Once again, however, one line stood out. The one that has been the Flyers best line over the past few weeks.

Noah Cates, Bobby Brink, and Tyson Foerster have somewhat been carrying the team on a nightly basis. Providing not only energy, but also the depth scoring the Flyers have needed when their top players haven’t.

After last nights 4-3 win, Tortorella said he hoped Brink could get one or two to go to get his confidence going,

Brink, who has not scored in 20 games, opened the scoring for the Flyers.

His 5th goal of the season came off a patiently waited and timed pass by Nick Seeler from the point.

Owen Tippett gave the Flyers the lead mid-way thru the 3rd period.

His 13th goal of the season came off a turnover created by Morgan Frost in center ice. Intercepting a Blue Jackets outlet pass from their own zone.

Frost’s assist 5th point in his last 4 games.

Cam York skated in career game #200 tonight. Becoming the 132nd player in franchise history to play 200 games for the Flyers.

The Flyers fall to 19-20-6 on the season.

Next up, the New York Islanders Thursday night at UBS Arena at 7:30pm.
