Denver: The Flyers ended their three game road trip just like how they started it, upsetting one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

Colorado had lost just once in regulation at home all season. The Flyers handed them their second one, beating the Avalanche 7-3.

Four third period goals, two by Owen Tippett and two by Matvei Michkov, gave the Flyers a 7-3 win. The first two goals coming 63 seconds apart in the first two minutes of the period.

Tippett’s third goal of the night, his second career hat trick, came on the penalty kill just over the halfway point of the period.

He finished the night with four points, three goals and one assist. Tying a career high with four points in a game.

Michkov ended the night with three points, two goals and one assist. His first three point game of the season.

Denver Barkey also had a multi-point game, scoring and adding an assist in the first period. His second of the season ended an eight game drought.

The reason why the Flyers were even in this game was because of Samuel Ersson, stopping 32 of 35 Avalanche shots fired his way.

Ersson came up huge in the first period for the Flyers. Not allowing a goal on the 17 shots fired his way in the opening period.

The penalty kill held the high powered Avalanche to no goals on four opportunities. Two of which came in the third period after the Flyers made it 5-3.

The Flyers now head back home for one game when they host the New York Islanders on Monday night.
