PHILADELPHIA – Matvei Michkov, Trevor Zegras, and Travis Konecny all failed to score in the shootout as the Flyers lost 2-1 to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Dan Vladar allowed just one goal in regulation and the shootout winner in the loss. He finished the night with 30 saves.
It was his seventh straight game allowing two goals or less and his 26th, of his 40 starts, this season.
Alex Bump scored his second career goal to tie the game just over the mid-way point of the first period.
Initially not ruled a goal on the ice, a quick review changed that. Bump redirected home an Emil Andrae point shot past Jet Greaves.
Andrae now has points in back to back games since returning to the lineup.
The power-play struggles continued for the Flyers. Failing to find the back of the net on four man advantage opportunities.
Damon Severson gave the Flyers a prime opportunity to use the man advantage to take control of the game. His two late penalties in the second period gave the Flyers 3:36 of power-play time to start the third period.
Nothing materialized from it as only three shots from hit the net. The power-play is now 4/31 in the last 11 games.
The Flyers now head west for a three game road trip. First up, the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday at 10:00pm.
